About

Who we are

The response groups grew from an idea a group of 4x4 enthusasts had whereby they could make use of their vehicles capabilities to perform a service for their communities. Over time this idea spread and has become a national organisation providing logistical support, expertise and manpower to assist the emergency services and other organisations when they are in time of need.

Nationally groups have been involved in assisting during times of flood and snow and assistance has ranged from ensuring supplies of food and water reach the elderly to assisting in the recovery of people and vehicles from snowbound highways.

The North West group is a part of the National 4x4 Response Network. The group covers a very large area, from the Scottish borders down to Cheshire, from the Irish Sea to the top of the Pennines. As can be imagined the range of weather conditions and terrain in this geographical area make this a challenging task.

The National Network is a registered charity and is funded from subscriptions, local group memberships and donations. The NW 4x4 Response group obtains funding purely through subscriptions and grants from the National group.
